JD Cloud is a comprehensive cloud computing service provider under the JD Group. It has been established and operated for several years. Unfortunately, in the face of the strong strength of Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud, JD Cloud is not developing very fast. However, The price of Jcloud VPS is also relatively cheap, and the price/performance ratio is good.
At present, Jcloud's products include VPS, containers, load balancing, databases, etc., which are basically comparable to Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud and other product categories. Taking advantage of this Jcloud event, I purchased a VPS from Jcloud and conducted a simple performance and speed test on the host.
Generally speaking, the price of Jcloud VPS is still relatively cheap, but the slow IO read and write speed of the hard disk is really a "highlight". If it is cloud computing, such a slow hard disk read and write speed is understandable, but if it is For VPS, such speed is really unacceptable.

1. Use of Jcloud VPS

Currently, JD Cloud VPS only has two computer rooms in North China and South China to choose from.

JD Cloud VPS also provides hard disk snapshots, which can create hard disk snapshots for the VPS host.
In addition, the default JD Cloud VPS firewall security group opens all rules. If you feel unsafe, you can delete it yourself and add rules separately.
2. JD Cloud VPS host performance and speed
This is the hard disk IO read and write speed test of Jingdong Cloud VPS host. The average is only about 60MB/s, which is the same as what I mentioned before in Alibaba Cloud International Hong Kong Computer Room Speed and Performance Evaluation - Fast but Disk IO and Memory are Bottlenecks Alibaba Cloud IO is even slower.
This is the Unixbench performance running result of JD Cloud VPS’s 1-core 2GB memory, with a score of over 1,700.
Because the JD Cloud VPS purchased limits the bandwidth to 1Mb, the download speed is only about 100KB/s.
Finally, I checked the computer room of JD Cloud VPS. South China is the China Telecom/Unicom computer room in Guangzhou.

3. Summary
Compared with Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, etc., Jcloud JD Cloud VPS is lacking in terms of product type and function settings. JD Cloud has been in business for so many years, and it still has many achievements in cloud computing and stability. Still need to observe.
This time I tried the JD Cloud VPS host, and I was really surprised by the slow IO read and write speed of the hard disk. If you want to choose a faster IO host, you can try the cheap American CN2 VPS, Korean Kdatacenter VPS, and Vultr Japanese and American VPS.
